Draft proofing

HOKO-Haus

Especially in lightweight wooden constructions it is of paramount importance that the elements are wind and draft proofed as standard. The most important guide lines for draft proofing are:

  • Careful detail planning: Avoiding weak points through built in integral draft proofing measures.
  • Water repellent, open diffusion outer skin (Wood fibre board instead of plastic sheeting).
  • Wind tight, draft proof sheeting with a low sd value that is carefully applied and glued on the edges.
  • Insulating material with a high airflow resistance

What advantages dose the HOKO clima wall system offer:

  • Through blowing in the cellulose under pressure into the cavity, an insulation is achieved that has no joints or spaces and forms itself around all the construction parts. The insulation layer is flexible and fills the spaces under pressure: This means that no spaces appear or occur as the new house construction settles.

  • The high density of the cellulose insulation means that air movement within the cavity is restricted and therefore thermal rotation currents of the air do not occur.

With the HOKO clima wall system you simply save money:

  • Excellent draft proofing means lower heating costs
  • You are saved the demoralising costs which later occur due to the elimination and repair of damage to your home because of insufficient or simply bad insulation.
  • The repair of the damage is all too often not enough as it dose not treat the reason. The later installation of air conditioning systems or treatments with chemical fungicides could have been avoided had proper attention been paid to the relevant points concerning insulation against convection and cold spots. Doing the job right fist time does not just save money, it also protects the health of your family.
